This entry is part 3 of 12 in the series Tribute to Iris

We held a memorial service for Iris yesterday at the Hakone Japanese Garden in Saratoga. Why Hakone Japanese Garden? Iris loves all things Japanese. She loves to eat Japanese food. She admires Japanese architecture. She enjoys learning about Japanese culture. She loves to visit Japanese gardens.

Over the years, she always talked about wanting to visit Japan but never made the journey. We wanted to bring a little bit of Japan to her as we celebrate her life with all the people that she has touched. We invited a handful of people and over 200 family members, friends, classmates, colleagues, and neighbors came. It was evident how many lives Iris has touched.

Iris will be missed.

Here are some photos from the memorial service.
