We bought the game “Loot” a long time ago but never played it until this week. That’s the problem with having so many games and never getting around to playing everything. But we’re not complaining…
Loot is a card game for 2 to 8 players. It’s pretty much a sophisticated version of War. There are 3 different types of cards: merchant ships, pirate ships, and pirate captains. The merchant ships are worth different amount of gold, the pirate ships have different attack power based on the number of skulls (1-4) shown on the card, and the pirate captains trumps the pirate ships. The player that plays the highest attack power (pirate ships or pirate captains) on the merchant ships gets the gold. The goal of the game is to capture the most amount of gold.
Loot is a easy game to learn and play. Each game takes about 20 minutes or so depending on number of players. We’ve played the game twice with only two players. The dynamic of the game is very different with more players because there are more merchant ships to keep track of.
