This is part of the series:
Zhuang Xiu

The “zhuang xiu” on the house is coming along quite nicely. The countless trips to B&Q (China’s Home Depot) and GOME (home appliance) has created a huge vaccuum in our bank accounts. This past weekend, we completed the shopping/selection for our kitchen and our accounts are emptied until our next paycheck. Looking forward to end of the month to get some dough, but mostly, looking forward to our dream kitchen, fully equipped with a built-in oven, an “American Size” double door refrigerator with automatic ice maker/water dispenser, a dishwasher, two “American size” sinks, a garbage disposal, and a breakfast bar. Yes, things that are found in every American kitchen but almost unheard of here in China. We’ll be the first (and spoiled we are) to have all these things. =)
What’s done so far:
* Central AC
* Floor heating
* Electrical wirings & water piping
* First flooor (living room, kitchen, dining room) tiles
* Drop ceilings
What’s next / in progress:
* Balcony floor tiles
* Front door
* Dining room built-in cabinets
* Master bathroom
* Kitchen counter/shelves
Estimate completion time: still June, possibly May!
