Today is SMIC Community Service Club’s first volunteer event! A group of students from Susan’s school went to help out with the River of Hearts sorting party. River of Hearts is a charity organization that collects donation items (clothing, books, toys, etc…) and re-distribute them to people in need throughout China. About 25 students from SMIC School plus many other volunteers from around Shanghai sorted through tons of donated items (clothes, shoes, toys, etc…) and boxed them up. The boxes packaged today will be sent to the needy in Heilongjiang Province.
