Healed!

Thisentryis part 3 of 5 in the series Blindmansfaith Stories

We are finally back home in Shanghai after an unexpected one month stay in U.S. Jason is doing well, his face mostly healed but a bit red due to new skin growth. The recovery was remarkably fast, a few WEEKS ahead of doctor’s estimated healing time! The way he looks now, nobody could tell he was ever sick! He is well and back to work already. Click here for a picture (not for the faint-hearted) of how fast the illness came and went. It’s quite a MIRACLE, thanks to many who have been praying for him. More importantly, our faith has been tested and strengthened.

“Shall we accept good from God, and not trouble? Job 2:10

Perfect time to be reading the book of Job, about a man who lost everything - wealth, family, good health - literally overnight but continued to trust in God. Life is full of the unexpected and the unexplainables.

“We must experience life as Job did - one day at a time and without complete answers to all of life’s questions. Will we, like Job, trust God no matter what?” Living Application Bible

“Praise the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits - who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.” Psalm 103:2-5

historic.jpg As we walked out of the doctor’s office on Monday (7/30), we noticed a sign on the building entrance about the historical background of the building. This was the ONLY building in this SF district that survived the great 1906 earthquake & fire because of its strong foundation and building material. We thought it was significant given what we had just experienced - the foundation of our faith and marriage tested against the unexpected and unexplainable nature of life.

The Great Teacher says, “Therefor I tell you, do not worry about your life … who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? … but seek first his kingdom and his righteousness…”

Thanks for walking with us.
