This is the time of the year that makes everybody jealous…. Jason’s on one-month Chinese New Years break which started last week and Susan begins her 3-weeks break starting tomorrow. Drip drip drip with envy! :P We’re off to Guilin & Yangshuo tomorrow for a week, then to Hong Kong for a retreat, and then Guangzhou for a few days to visit Susan’s parents. Fun times!

Pray for travel safety, but mostly for a quiet spirit as this 3 weeks will be a time of reflection, meditation and seeking for future direction. The theme of the retreat will be transitions and crossroads, exactly where we are at right now.

Update regarding Jason’s job search, currently there are two possible job opportunities: (1) a chemical synthesis company in Chengdu (Sichuan province) that serves the pharmaceutical industry; (2) a high-throughput materials discovery start-up in Shanghai that seeks to innovate within the energy and environment sectors. Discussion with both companies is ongoing. Needing wisdom in decision-making whether to continue language studies or begin working after Spring Festival (and if beginning work, which field to choose). Continuing language study would allow for the possibility of more opportunities in other areas such as pharmaceutical research, university or grade school teaching, etc…

Continuing the journey of faith…
